Professional Career

Peter's professional career at the Bar has involved a number of high profile human rights cases involving the spread of human rights and employment cases. He has led in   several murder cases and been involved in terrorist cases as a Defence advocate. Due to his experience as an advocate for human rights he was appointed by the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda  (ICTR) as Lead Counsel in two cases one On Appeal and one in a trial. My advocacy has involved me in several high profile discrimination cases against the Crown Prosecution Service and the Probation Service. Consequently he was appointed to the Attorney General’s Race Advisory Committee between 2002 and 2005.

Peter's  professional engagement with both the Law Society and the Bar Council being a member of the Bar Race Relations Committee led directly to the adoption of the Bar and Law Society Equal Opportunities Policies. He helped to author the various policies that govern the professional bodies.
